ANXIETY

Anxiety is the feeling we get when we are worried, tense or afraid – particularly of things that are about to happen, or may happen in the future.

Anxiety is a natural human response when we feel under threat, experienced through thoughts, feelings or physical sensations and will affect most of us throughout our lifetime at one point of another.

Anxiety can become a mental health problem if it impacts your ability to live your life to the fullest.

Effects of anxiety on the mind:

  • Feeling tense, nervous, and unable to relax

  • Having a sense of dread or fearing the worst

  • Worrying that you’re losing touch with reality

  • Low mood and depression

  • Rumination – thinking a lot about bad experiences, overthinking a situation again and again.

  • Depersonalisation – feeling disconnected from your mind/body.

  • Derealisation – feeling disconnected from the world around you.

Effects of anxiety on the body:

  • Headaches, backaches, other aches and pains

  • Feeling light-headed or dizzy

  • Restless or unable to sit still

  • Faster breathing

  • Rapid or irregular heart rate

  • Nausea

Therapies:

At Remedi, we have an array of therapies that can help alleviate anxiety symptoms.

Guided Meditation – The stress reaction in the body is triggered several times a day. Meditation affects the body in the opposite way that anxiety does—by triggering the body's relaxation response. It restores the body to a calm state, helping it repair itself and preventing new damage from the physical effects of stress and anxiety.

Breathwork – Breathwork exercises, especially deep breathing, counter the effects of the stress hormone in the body. It increases the oxygen supply to the brain and engages the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting calmness.

Hypnotherapy - Hypnotherapy aims to break negative thought patterns and responses to anxiety and instead provide you with a healthier reaction. This is done via the subconscious - the part of our mind that works automatically without realising it.

Rebalance Impulse – This non-invasive stimulation and cognitive training device is based on applied neurosciences devoted to fighting stress and preventing health problems. After a few (sometimes only one) 30-minute session, each user discovers their ideal relaxation method and unlocks the keys to controlling stress and anxiety.

Infrared Sauna - Our award-winning Sunlighten infrared sauna is another clinically proven tool to boost wellness in many aspects, including alleviating stress.
